After reading through threads many folk seem to recommend Amsoil, I'm going to try Amsoil as opposed to Redline.

I usually change my engine oil@ ~9k, diff+gearbox oil ~17k.

Firstly i read Amsoil needs changed more often than other oils, why?!?, and how 'more' often?, will it make helladifference?

Secondly which oils do i chose from this page (opie oils)? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-411-amsoil-gea...l-atf-mtfs.aspx

I cant see a 70/80 gearbox oil?

I take it this is good for the diff? - http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1054-amsoil-sy...fgr-75w-90.aspx

IIRC GL5 for diff, GL4 for Gearbox.

Cheers

hellaguns.

Hellaguns

My first question would be, why?

If you don't have issues with Redline why change?

And which threads are people recommending it? I see a lot of people saying "I use this oil and it's great!" Which always makes me chuckle. It's almost like saying "well it hasn't blown my car up so it must be good!" As if any oil would do that. I can guarantee it's never a statement based on any form of testing.

What i'm getting at is I just stick to known / proven brands.

Personally I stick to Castrol / Motul and nothing else.

Hella no, stick with what you know...

I have to agree that I prefer Castrol engine oil after trying a few brands and reading on here.

I've always used Honda MTF and diff fluid, but I think I'll try Motul next as it saves me having to go to my local dealer with a container, ball ache.

But, as MB says, you don't really know how good something is until there is a problem (or isn't).

Hellaguns, I now imagine you to have a neck that goes from the bottom of your ears to the edge of your shoulders aswell

It was more a matter of trying something new but i see your pount.

I've read that amsoil needs changed more often due to additives In it but is very smooth, might stick with redline.
