Default Hello all

Hello everyone, I've just purchased my first s2k after owning many vtec and non vtec preludes, seat Leon Cupra and a jaguar XJ.

I've had a browse around the forum, but can find the answer to one brief question. I had it up on the ramp and the prop shaft sounds like there is something loose inside it. This isn't normal right? Also under acceleration the back end vibrates, I know I need a new diff mount.

Anyway, a photo of the car

Cheers!

Torque your hub nuts for the back end vibration ..... you may also want to check drive shaft play, especially if the car has been lowered.

Thanks. I've checked the drive shafts, no play and no play from the diff either, but the prop makes some weird noise like there is something metal loose in there.

Not that I know of, feels like it is but I'm guessing that the ride is just quite firm on the s2k.
The dampers have little reservoirs on them. But look oem to me.
You'll have to excuse my ignorance towards s2000's my head if full of Prelude info ha ha.

You might want to check whether that facelift bumper has been put on because the original one got smashed up...
It's also out on colour.

There's an odd gap above the drivers side headlight too.

I doubt the noise youre hearing is from the driveshaft. Its a solid piece...

What sort of noise is it that you're hearing? When you had it up on the ramp were you turning the prop and diff by hand or was the car running?

Good spot. The gap above the headlight indicates the wing has been removed and re-fitted at some point. I had this issue with my old S, it just needs a bit of fiddling around with to re-align correctly.

Prop shaf noise. Engine off, by hand. Just like there was something loose in there.

The front bumper is a pretty good colour match, the photos don't do it justice. I didn't notice a gap above the headlamp, my just be a shodow. I'll have a look when I finish work on Monday.
He said the front and rear bumpers where changed at the same time, it had a halfords special with chicken wire in on the back. But I ripped that off on the way home, whoops lol.

Very strange. Do a video or sound clip if you can as that might help us diagnose it
