Help!!!
I really need some help here guys....
I have ordered a MY2002 S2000 in Silverstone Metallic with the full red "pimpmobile" interior. Never having seen one in real life, I have read several threads and seen some garish pics. This is now getting me very worried that this might just be too much red.
I may be able to get the order changed to half red, but I really have no idea whether I'm making a huge mistake and ordering something that will drive me insane or if I've chosen something rather special.
I know this may cause a flame war between reds and non-reds, but I am seriously getting worried, hence want to know what the group consensus is. Is full red too much?
Yours nervously
Seriously concerned from Jersey

I know how you feel. You make a choice and then have to wait....... If you're really worried you could go for something more conservative which is less likely to provoke a strong reaction, like the black/red .
Very few people in the UK have seen the full red interior for real. I haven't. DogBiscuit has the full red I think.
This isn't much help, is it?
You've ordered one of the best cars in the world whatever the colour.

At the end of the day the decision will still be yours, you are bound to get some people that love it and some people that hate it so that will put you in even more of a quandary!
You need to see one in the flesh for your self and quick so you can spec change if you don

From the pictures I have seen it looks horrible but I have not seen one in the flesh.
Somebody must have one which you can go and see.
Make sure you get to see one if possible, it would be terrible if you had to live with something you were not happy with.

This is indeed a tough one - totally subjective and down to personal taste.
Marc (Dog Biscuit) kindly brought his Black / full red car to visit me last weekend - some piccies below:

However it is so hard to tell what it is like from pictures. It does look good IMHO - after 15 mins or so driving about in the car, I really didn't notice it. However from outside, especially with the top down, it makes for a startling contract between the body colour.
The panels and leather are definitely RED - not pink. This is good. One concern I would have is the different materials retaining the good colour (and colour match) they have when new over the mediun to long term. Regular doses of a good UV screen (303???) would be a must for me.
I have a silverstone car with the black/red interior, and if I'm honest, I prefer it to the full red. But then I am soooooo conservative (the thought of any red at all worried me at first). It is probably the most popular combination, and that in itself will turn some folks off.
In conclusion - I had seen the scary photos - it really is much better in the 'flesh' - IMHO - and that, ultimately, is the problem - it is down to personal opinion - the only way to decide is to see it for yourself, and therein lies your problem - to do that it would appear you have to spend over

I agree with all of the above. You really need to see one. Before I bought my S2000, I had an Audi TT225 Roadster on test for a day. When I drove it away from the dealers I thought "Wow, this cockpit is really cool!" But, after an hour or so behind the wheel, all that aluminium was getting on my nerves and, by the time I took the car back, the novelty had well and truly worn off and I knew there was no way I could live with it long term. On the other hand, many Audi owners love it.
I'd hate that to happen to you and your all red interior. So my advice is try to get to see one. Send Dog Biscuit a PM and ask if you can have a good look at his. This is a hell of a lot of money to spend on something you don't really know if you're going to like!
Pete
PS. As it happens, after the Audi test drive, I didn't like the car anyway for a good few other reasons

I saw Dog Biscuits car when we collected our new S2000's and I must say I thought it looked fanstastic, after taking the proverbial's about it all the way up I had to eat humble pie and admit I thought it looked the business.
If you ask Marc very nicely he may take you for a spin, I didn't catch where you live but it would be a worthwhile trip down to sussex to put your mind at ease.
Nick.

Cheers for the replies, guys.
This has been on my mind for a little while now. Part of the problem is being in Jersey, which has only 3 S2000s and of these, there is only 1 with a red interior - and its a half and half, so no real joy there.
I have spoken to the dealers and asked whether it is possible to change it and they are getting back to me.... If they can't, then I guess I will have to live with it and hope it looks OK to me.
If they can, then I think the half and half is the way to go - not as conservative as all-black, but with that little splash of colour. What doesn't help is my location and that of the dealers. I would hate to travel to Belgium in May and be presented with a full-red car and think "OMG that's grim".
Serves me right for listening to a friend before I ordered! He has all black and thinks its too sombre - which I agree with.
IMHO its probably better to try and change it and at least I can live with thinking "perhaps I could have survived with the pimpmobile" rather than "g0d I hate my car's interior." Like you said,
