Never mind southstand...I took mine into a dealer with the same thing. At least you can go red with embarassment on here without anyone seeing you.... Unlike me at the dealer

Tom tom also has windows (CE), which is why it also crashes without warning. Overwhelming urge to park it under fast-moving Prelude.

Snooper S2000 (!) on order!

I've used Tom Tom Mobile and Tom Tom One Europe for the last 3 years or so and have never witnessed a crash...

I'm on my third now (upgrades & presents)
No issues with any of them even with me messing with POI's, Maps, Voices, updates, etc

Actually TomTom is built on a Linux kernel - Navman units run Windows CE

Thought it was CE. Oh well.

Nope, mine's got gradually more & more unstable; usually just as you're getting near the destination it freaks out.

I now think it's actually the screen causing it (or a new problem overriding teh above). Despite cleaning, it now enters info itself constantly!

For about a year, problems have been building. And I've spent a fortune on new maps, Camera upgrades, software etc.

TBH, I've also lost the plot with the TT website; it was cleary designed by a bunch of Dutch junkies.

I'm going back to Snooper. It's British and probably bigoted. And I've heard good things about it.
