Default Help with code readers!

Evening all,

I'm after a good code reader as my CEL light is on, i've done a quick search but i'm not really finding the answers i'm looking for. I spent a while browsing ebay and i decided to get this one. My link. I received it today, plug it in only to find it is not compatible with the S2000, even though the ad says it is. So, can anybody give me a link to something that is known to work, the car is a 06.

Torque app for your phone plus any old bluetooth/wifi reader. Job done.

I did consider getting an app, are they really as good as the more 'traditional' readers? I have found a torque bluetooth reader on ebay for a tenner, perhaps i'll go for it.

It works perfectly with my MY02 car. CEL codes as well as data logging. The free version will tell you what your CEL is, so it's a no-brainer.

If you don't want to go the app route Launch Creader's do the job.

I clicked on the link and was amused to see that the listing uses Ferrari, Bentley and even Maybach logos in the main picture, and if you scroll down further shows what appears to be an image of a Tesla!

I know that there must be legions of Maybach and Tesla owners who would find the device very useful indeed.

I use the Torque app and bluetooth OBD scanner - works a treat. And not only on my car, but others too.

+1 for Torque - why not push the boat out and buy the Pro version too, I'm sure it's only about £2.50

Yep, I did that too. Definitely worth it.

And for the stuff it doesn't read on other cars - SRS / airbags, I have a good standalone reader which I had to buy once.
