Default Help me decide!

I've fallen in love with the S2000 but I need some sensible opinions as to whether it's a good idea at my age or not.

I'm 24 and still living at home with parents, currently got 40k saved and I'm on about 14k a year, is this a sensible time to be considering buying an S2000? I test drove a '07 plate New Formula Red GT version at the weekend with only 4000 miles on the clock, it's priced at

40k saved! i envy you.

money burns a hole in my pocket and i tend to live for today.

don't think i could live with my parents if i had 40k in the bank though, i moved out as soon as i could and i rent a place that i could never afford to buy in a million years.

personally if i were you i'd look at getting an older s2k with fairly low mileage. that way you could go for the rawer earlier model with lower road tax (pre march 2001), and not eat into your savings too much.

IF you have 40k saved up and prepared to dip into for servicing, tyres, insurance etc etc go for it!

Why don't you buy an older low miles one from off here and still have 30K + left.

I think you will get the same advice here as from the ocuk forums mate!

Buy an 04ish facelift one for 10-11k and pocket the rest

Or actually I think i would buy Tangos one thats up for sale at the moment, lovely colour and my god is it clean!

Different dashboard, more stylish rear bumper, 17inch wheels.

I find the 04+ to be alot better looking personally. I can't comment on suspension as im still a bit of a newb when it comes to under the hood stuff, but i Believe the 04 is tamer and less wild than the older versions, but the newer stylings are alot nicer!

1. buy a pre 2001 car, enjoy the experience. I'm sure you can find quite a few well maintained and cared for car from the forum.
2. decide on the house you want to buy
3. check again whether you can afford to run the car + mortgage repayment. if you can't, sell the car the help with the deposit. at this point, you won't lose as much as you would if you have bought a newer car.
