I Wouldn't bother spending it until you have moved into your new house (which you haven't done yet? )-you might need the money for something

on the other hand, if it's lying around in the bank there's more of a chance LHB will want it for a new kitchen. As kitchens are not as fast or as good looking as a TVR 350 then I might be tempted to spend it now

Moggy - I like your reasoning (and sig!)
Moving to a rented place to become a down sizing cash buyer next time round.

Jel - I know of the 220's reputation (VXR looks nice) - but struggle with the Vauxhall badge having had too many as company cars and hated them all!

If you're happy with what you've got - don't change just because you can, change because you want to.

That cash, invested wisely for even as little time as a year would make you money, whereas changing cars will always lose you money whatever you choose to buy.

Unless you feel the S is somehow deficient, keep the cash and wait until you find something you really want.....

Or you could do what I did, and spend the money on a pile of bits to make into the car you really want

Mark, from your sig I can advise you that you do not have any illegitiate children in the world - a Dad would definitely be au fait with your first lesson (and I would make the same mistke three times )

Ah, that's because I'm a non-contentious lawyer - we embrace each other (not like that Shiskine!) to further a common objective i.e. faster cars

Unfortunately for Mark, a truly fast car is now a pipe dream; babies, pipe and slippers await him now (the slippers are already in the pensionermobile I'm guessing ).

Put the cash on your mortgage. 10k on 20 years of mortgage will save yourself over 30k in interest and mean you pay your mortgage back 3 years earlier.

Figures all estimates but they're good enough for most people...

To many choices, having only had my S for a short time, and having spent a shed load on it, i would say keep yours unless you are truly not bothered about spending the extra money to buy a newer/different car.

If i had my car for a couple of years i would want to try something new, but would not rule out the option of buying another S later on, plenty of new cars to test drive, waste some time doing that to see if you like the other choices you have. may be suprised that what you have is good enough.

I sort of contemplated changing/getting another car this year, because I could.

Decided there was nothing that could touch the S2K for thrills/VFM/running costs/unembarrassing image/etc.

So that's it really. Come back and ask us when you've worn it out!

Nick I'm coming round to that way of thinking

Then Lee goes and posts links to 355's and M12's

Especially as I will have no mortgage on the next house!
