Default HELP! - Missing a cylinder!

Can someone help me please. I bought an 03 plate (my second S2000) 3 months back from a supposedly reputable independant dealer. The day I picked it up someone pointed out a small ding on the number plate surround which was annoying but not the end of the world. Since then I have had a catologue of problems including a wheel bearing noise which they couldn't locate (i guess it could have been tyres to fair), a leaking roof and an intermittant notch/resistance going into 3rd. It has been back to the dealer on 3 occasions but they have never found any problems. They also said that as I didn't spot the ding when i collected then it could have been me. Anyway i have been pretty reasonable until this morning when, after i eventually got the car started, it sounded like a lawn mower and clearly isn't running on all cylinders, I struggled to keep the engine running and it struggled to get over 40 mph. The car had done less than 23k miles when i got it and has 24,500 now

I called the dealer today and after a lot of calls back and forth they have told me that they will look at it in a couple of days as they are busy and they will try to keep the cost down for me as the AA warranty expired yesterday (I bought it on the 10th May). I don't know where this leaves me (out of pocket by the sounds of it!) but has anyone had this cylinder problem before? Could it just be a spark plug or is there a known fault such as this!

As I'm sure you can guess I relatively peeved and I'm hesistant to have them deal with it but I also don't want an enormous Honda dealer bill so any help or info I can get would be massively appreciated!

Ta.

Where abouts are you, we might be able to recommend a local independent that's reputable?

The notchy change can happen when the car is cold, leaking roof is a fairly normal thing buy some Shin Etsu grease and grease up the rubber seals.

are you getting a check engine light? What's the oil level like? any smoke?

Pop the cover off, and take the sparks out one at a time, each time you remove a plug, the car should sound shoudl not start ( runnign on 2 cyl ) until you pop one out, and it runs the same as it was ( this is the duff ) Then carefully prop the plug away from metal, start the car, and look to see if the spark is firing, no spark = new spark plug = problem solved.

If its sparking, swap the plugs about ( make sure you plug them in the same so you dont ruin fire order, leave the wiring in place to make sure you dont get confused.

Check there is no crap in between the end of the pipe and the spark etc...

If all if firing well, and its the same cyl thats playing up, welcome to the game of Cylinder hide and seek...

Try not to run the car for to long with an open spark im getting intermittent misfires at the moment also

Any CEL ?

I'm based in maidenhead.

The change does seem worse when it's cold although I don't remember it being as bad on my last one.

Engine light is on, oil was checked 2 weeks ago at Honda Maidenhead and it was fine. I have probaly driven 150 miles since.
