I managed to find a suitable spring today, just got to get round to fitting it and giving the whole thing a good clean. I'd hate to have to open the bonnet if the cable ever snapped, not much room behind there.

 

Mine did the same today. I went down to Honda and they wanted £40. I told them it was just the spring that had broken, but they said it was a new unit. The thing is the mechanism is absolutely fine, nothing wrong with it.

So, anyone recommend a suitable replacement for the tension spring highlighted? I forgot to measure it! Doh!
