Help. Site is making finding things impossible
Hi,
If I remember correctly there is an issue from Southern Honda of Geomerty settings which are slightly different from the New Honda UK ones. There is also a discussion thread about it too.
I can't find either so wondered if anyone knew where they were.
Have a very poor print out of the Honda UK released geometry settings, any one got a better image.
Brian also mentioned the order that the settings should be done in, i.e. Toe Then Camber then Caster.
Can anyone confirm it was Camber, Caster then Toe?
Thanks
Allan

IIRC the actual settings by Southern Counties (if that's who you mean Allan) were not disclosed as they provide them as a part of a paid-for alignment service. (In fact I can't remember anyone actually claiming to know what they were anyway).
You can get more details on the southern-counties website, but not the actual settings.
The only OEM settings I have seen are the ones on the tech faq, which don't come out on print very well.

Thanks Euan,
You were missed on Arran, by the Midgies as much as the Midgie Proof Crew (photo's to follow)
Can you remeber the setting order?
Camber, Caster then Toe?
or
Caster, Camber then Toe?
or
Caster, Toe then Camber?
or another set?

Jaeger I have a set of the standar settings which I use for reference and they print pretty damn well - PM me your email address and I'll send it over.

Always max out the front caster first. It's difficult to achieve.
Toe is the easiest (even Qiuk Fit Shitters think they are capable!) so is done last.
PS whenever you move one, it fcuks up another (the joys of having triangulated links!) so one must go round the houses, so to speak.
Still, that's not your problem. As long as the results are close, they can bugger about for as long as they like!

. They think it will take 1 - 1.5 hours so they don't do it quickly.
Ideally the car should be set-up, driven and then the geometry re-checked......

It is not a quick job - Honda quote 2 hours.

As far as time needed is concerned, it all depends on how exacting you want the job to be done. I and we understand S2000 owners exacting demands and S2000 handling. 1.0-1.5 is laughable if it is going to be exact. It would be dangerous for me to comment specifically on Honda UK scheduled times except to say that sometimes manufacturers scheduled times understate the actual time required if a diligent job is to be done.
It is not possible to compare a geometry job on a beater or a non performance car with setting up an S2000 for an S2000 enthusiast.
If you ask me the question "Is it possible to do the proper job within 2 hours?" and the answer is a categoric NO.
