Default Here at last!

Well folks, after much waiting my shiny new MCB S2000 has finally arrived! Delivered from Austria on the back of a car transporter with 16 miles on the clock.
I've purchased the Zymol starter kit (my wife's still wandering around shaking her head and muttering something along the lines of "ninety pounds, he must be mad".
Still trying to source some 10W 30 mineral oil.
I've registered it at Priory Honda in Bedford.
The running in period shouldn't take too long.

Just one question.........

how long does the stupid grin last?

You'll get the oil from Ford dealer.

I am beginning to suspect that it is permanent, as soon as you start that gem of an engine the damage is done - I am really sorry, we should have warned you earlier!!

Welcome to the ultimate driving experience - just don't get carried away in this weather!

- Frisky.

Thanks Roadkill, I'll make sure it lasts. I'm sure that when I've completed all the applications (when it gets somewhat warmer!) then I'll be able to demostrate value for money!

Welcome to the board and you definately purchased the best colour.

Grin is definately semi permanent. reason for this is, when i aint in the S then i am not just thinking about it.
Oil can be bought from Halfords in the orange container but is slightly different viscosity or from Fords which is the recommended viscosity.

The halfords orange bottle fits just right in the boot well as an emergency oil top up bottle

Welcome to the board Tim.

The grin Im afraid is more permanent than maximum strength Botox injections - I still have mine after 2350 miles and I dont think theres any chance of it going.

R.

ps - be prepared for strange reactions when you finally do get to VTEC - I was on the phone (hands free I hasten to add) when I was cut up by a Nissan Primera, the road quickly opened out into two lanes, so I told the friend at the end of the line to "hang on a mo while I deal with this", and VTEC'd through two gears, when I had matter of factly dispensed with the Primera and gotten back to cruising speed I returned to my phonecall, and all i heard was "bloody hell, was that your car ??? - it sounds like you're playing Gran Tourismo, christ !!". - you cant beat it.
