Default Hesitation...

For some time now my car has suffered a problem with hesitation in slow moving traffic, I used to put it down to heat soak, however lately it has got much worse to the point where it will literally break rear wheel traction in the dry just pulling away gently in first! It's as if the throttle is being wildly opened and shut in quick succession.
So to give as much info as possible, it only really happens at low revs particularly in slow moving traffic more so under heavy load. It did seem to have affected power across the whole rev range until recently, but I added a couple of bottles of STP injector cleaner and it seems much improved, but not fixed by any means.
I have replaced the primary oxygen sensor, MAP sensor and spark plugs, all to no avail.
Next on my list are:
Valve clearances
Coils
Injectors
Throttle Position Sensor

Does anybody have any experience of similar symptoms?
I have read many posts, many sound similar in some ways, but nothing directly comparable.

Any Ideas on where money would best be spent first would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Ben

Thanks Fester, so does the IACV have an effect even on WOT?
How do you go about cleaning the throttle body?

No it doesn't - it's an idle control but from how mine was before I cleaned it, it was more noticeable in traffic. Throttle body cleaning is a rag and some carb cleaner.

How dirty is your air filter? Maybe give it a clean?

Benjamico, did you ever find the root of the problem?? My ap1 has exactly the same issue and don't really want to have to start to go through all the possible causes if know what the problem is.

Hows your coolant? Does the temperature gauge move at all, i.e. beyond 3 bars?

Im pretty sure you could park the S on the sun and that gauge still wouldn't move.

I'd start by cleaning the throttle body and the sensor on top, that and regreasing that rubber seal of the sensor fixed my kangarooing probs
