Since I bought the car after a run if I park up for 10 mins or more when I get back in the car it starts ok then it will not take any throttle I have to slip the clutch and rev it to try and keep it running. It does this for about 30/40 secs then clears and runs fine? The bigger the throttle opening the more it dies until it clears.

I have posted earlier and a new map sensor cleared the kangarooing and tickover but this which I thought was all the same problem related still persists. Once car has done a mile or so it goes away and runs fine until it is left for 10 mins or so.

Again any help would be appreciated.

Kev

Lambda sensor IMO, any other symptons like higher mpg etc, bad idling etc etc?

When you replaced the MAP sensor it may not have solved the problem, its the ECU's primary load sensor.

With the scenario you posted, the lambda response rate differs when either; it doesnt meet the OEM response rate or starts to fail, which would explain the intial rough running.

Did you ever read the CEL codes?, the lambda doesnt always put a CEL on though IMO/IME.

Take the MAP sensor off and turn upside down, the MAP has a small inch long tube - at the top of the tube is a small black rubber 'O' ring (about an inch diameter).

This 'O' ring IIRC sits in a recess on the TB.

Its important you have it fitted as it wont detect load correctly.

Well many will disagree with me, but i dont believe using the cheap ebay ones its hit and miss and you have to solder some of them on, there's 2 guys on here who have had problems with the cheap ones, and i've seen other cars come in with problems because of these cheap ones.

I've tried a more expensive (£80) fuelparts sensor twice and i had the same problems twice!.

Apprently the walker ones are very good and are around £80, search for walker o2/lambda sensors think 'gritty' found one.

Honda sell them they are a good make but your getting towards teh £140 mark IIRC.

sounds like over/under fuelling.
after you've left it on idle for a bit, does it smell a bit petrol-y?

i'd say lambda also.
