Honda S2000 Honda UK put a new Air filter, new throttle body, and a new MAP sensor on the car and still the car has a hesitation also there is about 1 inch play on the accelerator which is a real pain any suggestions would be very much appreciated, Louis
Normally the hesistation issue is related to the CDV (Clutch delay valve), you might need to look there to fix your issue. Some develop this over time and eventually require a fix. My early '00 year had this at low speeds, especially in traffic but I just lived with it.

If it's happening swapping to VTEC, then it may be VTEC solenoid. If Honda found no faults, I can believe that as generally, they are useless. Take it to a specialist who knows what they are doing. Honda are used to Jazz/Civic customers now, dealers have long forgotten they used to sell this car.
hesitation will have nothing to do with CDV plus the early cars didn't have one,,, sort out the play in your throttle first

I thought this was a DBW model for some reason - so you actually have a throttle cable ?

has a cable into the engine bay though.

if it misses as well, make sure that the plugs are all ok, if the gaps too big it will do it, as will a loose plug, coil pack etc, and possibly loose earth straps. cant remember, but im sure theres a pita one to get at on the back of the block, they are also in both footwells on the side, doubt its those though.

check the map and plugs would be my first place.

The adjustment is exactly the same as any other Honda; you lose the cover on the DBW module and there's two 11mm nuts on the cable.

The one on the back has a pin locating it, so you undo the one at the front a lot. Then pull the cable nearly taut and spin the other nut back up to the pin. Let go the cable & re-tighten the locking nut.

It felt like I found about another 20BHP when I did that on the NSX!

Thanks for the instructions Nick Graves Brill, Honda in Belfast told me there was no adjustment on the throttle.

At the end of the day if you are not happy that the work is of a satisfactory standard on your 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Honda S2000 refuse to accept the car back until they do a full and proper job after all it is their product and anybfalure is customer satisfaction will be documented and put in writting toHonda UK and Honda ththemselves.

This is a very special car, it cost Honda years to bring it to production, because they themselves were perfectionists! This engine won awards for 10years straight.... It should wow you not disappoint you.... it is one below the NSX.... arguably the best production car ever produced period.

Ask Honda as theyre not able to put a new engine in a special edition limited edition car that they built correctly... who have they consulted In order to get it right? What specialists have assisted with this apparent simply resolved issue? Ask to see the paper work, training cours certificatea for the technitions?
Did thr work experience kid work on your limited edition anniversary high performance award winning car??

Ask to see the check list technicians have reviewed to check all is done correctly... im sure with a new engine it will be a very long check list....... also who verified this work to double check it's all done.....? What is there training back ground ask to see thier certificstes of training? Who wasnproject managing this work becuase as they will be familiar with this special car as a main dealer youbwould expect someone to be over seeing this works as its nkt every day this car has a new unit put in at a Honda Dealer!!

at the end of the day.... simply request that if Honda are satisfied with the work they have done.... they will happy allow an iindependent specialsit to inspect the work..... as they want to keep the customer happy avoiding written complaints and possibly press coverage they will fund the independent inspection.

TGM, TDI North, TTS, EuroSpec im sure will have someone available to pop to Honda and make sure all is well as Honda will fund the visit.... ask the independent for a written summary of there findings.

As a time served apprentice (industrial not automotive but apprentice all the same)
I'm not sure if I find your comment offensive or not.
The point of an apprenticeship/work experience is to gain experience by doing the job.
You've got to start somewhere and everyday you're always learning.

I'll not turn this into a slanging match but think on a little before slinging out little digs.
