Default Honda S2000

In the recently published 2010 Which Car Survey under ‘Saint or Sinner?’ (Would you recommend your car to a friend? It’ a simple but true indicator of owner satisfaction.) the Honda S2000 was joint first with the Honda Accord at 97%.

An owner said: ‘I love it – it’s never let me down, it’s relatively uncommon and great to drive. As an overall sports package it works very well; servicing and running costs are half that of a Boxster.’

Which say: A sensible sports car choice; VTEC engine and taut handling make it loads of fun on an open road, and it won’t let you down on a winter morning.

The new Mazda MX5 (2005 on) also had 97%, whilst the old MX5 was in seventh place, the Audi TT in eighth and the Porsché Boxster was ninth. Neither the Z3 or the Z4 were in the top ten.

Interesting

Most of my mates (who like cars, some don't) really like my car but i dont see anyone of them having any desire tow own one.

I'd recommend it in its current guise .

Do you not think the S2000 is a bit like Marmite

Absolutely mainly due to the engine IMO.

Generally people (not in the know) get in it drive it for a couple of mins, and dismiss it .

the engine is fine, it's the car that is too heavy

I was more referring to keeping the car on the boil and high revs, with different power delivery characteristics compared to most other cars (turbo etc).
