The inertia switch (if fitted) will have a button on top which you simply press to reset if it has been triggered but if it is faulty this won't help so if it doesn't start after pressing the button it's best to disconnect it and bridge the two wires together.
If this doesn't work or if there isn't an inertia switch then you still need to check for power at pin 5 with the ignition on and immob disarmed. |
if the inertia switch had tripped surely the car would have stopped running on the track or did it not too clear if you were running when fault happened.
may be it did and the link installed flattened the battery coulld be just a recharge and a reset of the inertia switch that is needed. |
just been and looked on mine for the inertia switch and as steve say's it looks like it is just above the bonnet release abit to the left and just above the footwell plastic trim it as a rubber top to it and is right beside the fuse box.

Thanks for your help steve and bob I will have a look tomorrow afternoon in the daylight, can anyone recommend a good trickle charger from hellfrauds (I needed one anyway this just gives me a good reason to buy one) cheers.
And bob the car was running fine on track, I pulled off at 5.30 turned off the engine had a drink, got in the car ready to go home and it wouldn't start. |

Ste, baz and I had a look today and managed to find the inertia switch, we pressed it and it seemed to click. I have his trickle charger giving my battery some life at the minute, so I am hopeful that this was the problem, it would make sense that the inertia switch might kick in given the sideways action my car was getting that day?

OK its fixed and had nothing to do with the inertia switch, so yes Mikey if only things were that simple, just my simple mind :)
Anyway, it turns out its the alarm, the fuel cut-off part of the alarm, my mate simply hard-wired (bypassed) this part of the system and it now works properly once again, so all being well I shall be back out and about and at the tunnel meet tomorrow night too :) Thanks for your help everyone and particularly the two Ste's for getting me going etc very much appreciated. |
