Default How Long before Hard top comes off?

Just wondering, when are people considering taking off their hard-tops (after having made some room in the garage)?

We've had a lot of snow recently, but spring is just round the corner!

Most folk don't have hard tops - so does it really matter?

Just waiting for decent weather to wash it before it goes away. Even have a nice bag on the garage wall to put it in

I don't know why anyone would want a hardtop, after owning my car for almost a year. In summer it's pointless as you should have the roof down most of the time. Even during winter, as long as it's dry I usually have the roof down with a wooly hat on. Especially now I have the new roof clips on, I get zero wind noise even in pretty high wind or road speeds.

Only advantage I could see is during really heavy rain when I sometimes get the odd leak at the seals with the soft top.

It's an expensive bit of kit to have sitting in the garage doing bugger all IMO. If I bought an S2K with one, the first thing I'd do is sell it private, bringing down the effective cost of the car by

I have a hard top but haven't really used it - I tried it for a week and thought it defeated the object of the car on nice crisp winter mornings...... so off it came and in the garage it has been since!

It didn't cost me any extra on the car as the dealer ended up selling me a GT for the same cost as the normal model - he was desperate for a sale so who was I to say no.

I don't see me ever using it but I suppose it will increase the resale value a bit one day. It doesn't cause too many problems in the garage so there it will stay .

Same here. End of feb is a good time though, or before your first meet of the new year (so the other attendees don't take the pi$$ out of you too much )

Resale value going up is prob true.

People won't realise that they aren't going to use it till they've bought it!
