How about removing the exhaust altogether?

Or just bang some dustbin lids together?

Personally, I think it's great.

The noise is pure petrol head heaven

The only negative is that it can get a bit tiresome with the roof up on motorway journeys at a constant speed.

It sounded fanastic i agree

A vented bonnet will add around 5dB.

Add a couple or four more cylinders ?

Don't understand the fascination with having a loud anti-social car myself

With a dB meter, at a 45 deg angle, at 1 metre.

Did that too .. but the collector is at an angle that means it'll cause issues with the underside of the car.

If it'd have pointed at the floor, I might have been tempted.

I think the Spoon N1 is 128 dB at maxi chat...that was according to a video on youtube though. The car may have had other mods too.

For engine sound I prefer quality over quantity.

If you just want a loud exhaust I could drag out my old B reg cavalier with a rusted Back Box that'll give you some serious loudness.
