About 150ml in 3500 miles from new, mainly A-roads, moderate vtec-ing.

Seems to be a large variation here, even in low mileage vehicles (and pre-04)

MY: 04

Mileage: 1600

Oil used per 1000 miles: 800ml after about 900ish miles but not needed anything since!

Indication of driving: Mostly weekend motorways with the odd vtec thrash around.

MY03

Mileage: 22000

It hasn't used more than 500ml between services! As for my driving I have been known to enjoy VTEC from time to time

Need to update mine, looks like I spoke too soon. Checked it last weekend and it was down 3 notches.

My 2000 car has done 8k miles in 9 months and used no oil. It worries me a bit but it runs fine!

MY: 02
Mileage: 19000
Oil used per 1000 miles: virtually zilch
Indication of driving: Track /AB Roads 90%/ Motorway 10% / lots of vtec - it's a toy after all

Drank buckets up to ~11000 miles then eased up completely. Still check every fill up though.

Mine burns oil when I'm using VTEC a lot, but when I used it for few weeks to commute into work to make the most of the Summer (50 mph limit with random speed cameras ) it didn't use any. On my last, reasonable fast, 400 mile trip it burnt about 125ml. That works out at 3,200 miles per litre (and, funnily enough, I use about 2 litres between services).

I think I have read somewhere that ring/piston repairs to rectify oil burning should only be considered if consumption is worse than 1,000 miles per litre so I'm happy with that.

Noticed it says in the book it can use up to 1litre per 600 miles. Mine certainly isn't that bad - but i do use a lot of VTEC when off the motorway. I tend to heel-toe/engine-brake coming up to islands etc which probably doesn't help either. It's having 27k service today (although only on 15k, as it had 2yr service at 6.5k), and I mentioned it to them but they didn't seem to concerned just keep an eye on it running under low, sir.

There's nothing wrong with this level of oil consumption (and its cheaper than the amount of petrol that gets burnt )IMO
