How much to try to get off?

Thanks for the replies folks, haven't been laughed out of town which is encouraging!
good suggestion but I doubt I'd get another card with a fairly big limit on it, think my current one's down to a clerical error to be honest!
A few will definitely be hoping so, there're some on Autotrader been on sale for over 6 months!
If the weather picks up and demand increases it's swings and roundabouts as that should help with the price I'll get for selling my MX-5. Be interesting to see if the weather has as much effect on demand when taken in conjunction with all the economic bad news doing the rounds.
Would you not be better getting a 0% balance transfer card (2-3% handling fee) and paying the car privately?
They will probably be able to sell each car a couple of times over as the weather increases.
