I'm in the U.S. (State of Kentucky) and we have 93 octane readily available. I've used it since the day I bought the car and not even once have I ever had a bucking experience. I can't imagine what could cause a genuinely violent bucking w/ an S2k. Your post is the very first I've ever heard of it.

Hope you don't experience it again!!! Good luck to you and congratulations on getting a seriously fine sports car.

John

93 Octane!!!!?!!!!

...isn't that like feeding Blue Nun/Black Tower/liebfraumilch to a girlfriend who closely resembles Cindy Crawfords, younger, better-looking (and faster) little sister!!!

Hi

Shell have a really good web site so I've given you two links below. They give a search for garages selling Optimax so it's useful to find not only local garages but you can plan your journeys as well.

Hope it helps

This issue has been reported before. I don't believe, in general, that this has anything to do with the "bad" fuel. Please read my thoughts on this in the following thread from a while ago:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...ghlight=bucking
When you are driving that slowly or moving off from that slow a speed, you need to do more clutch work. This even happens on motorcycles and is taught extensively in those training courses.
If it does this in 2nd, you probably are going waaay too slowly to be in second and should have downshifted long ago.

As Mark rightly says, the octane ratings in the US and Europe are totally different. (rather like U.S. gallons and Imperial gallons - both the same measure name but entirely different volumes)

Where I live you can't get Optimax so I rely on Esso 97 octane normally. Today I passed a Shell garage with Optimax so I filled up. Shortly after I was hit with kangaroo syndrome - I wonder if the ECU has trouble readjusting.
