Default I HATE RainX!!!!!!!

OK you would think I would have learned my lesson!

On my old MR2 I tried rain wizard or some such stuff. great in heavy rain, but in drizzle and in the dry it was awful, wipers smear when they used to glide and leave a spotless windows.

So I went and did it again on the S2000, maybe it was a bad brand, or duff wipers etc.

NO

same smearing which follows the wiper and dissapears!! and when cold I get an almost permanent orangepeel pattern on the outside of the window which disappears on squirting fluid and reappears as it is wiped away!

I HATE this bl**dy stuff!

Now that I have re discovered this fact I am trying to get rid of it...easier said than done!

tried the cleaner that came with it (and was religiously used prior to Rainx) to no avail except maybe a bit less obvious smearing.

tried some autoglass poilsh and even that didnt get rid of it!

Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this vile coationg from my windscreen short of maonong to ins company about the 3 million chips and getting it replaced...wheres a big stone crack when you actually want one!

ok rant over, please help someone, it is SO annoying.

MJI

I agree... RainX sucks. Don't worry though... it'll come off after a little time with the wipers on.

i beleive the only way to remove is to soften the rainx on your screen with more rainx and then mechanically wipe it of with a constantly changing rag surface..... hope this helps

Obvious, but contact the manufacturer for advice?

I'd try a heavy duty degreaser (get from a motor factor) .

You could try Zaino glass polish - I used that and it seemed to remove it. I have a spare bottle if you are interested in it? PM me for details

Swarfega?

I have never heard of this problem with RainX before I thought everyone sings its praises?

Mike, I use RainWizard (suggestively shaped pink bottle applicator) which you can get from Halfords I think - I have never had any problems with it - works well, and is dead easy to apply.
