Default I need help......

Hi guys,

I'm new, 1st post, so be nice!! ..........but I was wondering if anyone could give me some adivce.

I spun my poor s2k in the soaking wet a few weeks ago on a slip road and went through the gravel trap and up a grass bank into some baby trees! I wasn't going that fast, so the damage to the bodywork was minimal, few scratches here and there, but I have had them polished up and got most of them out! and I didn't hit anything solid, just the gravel trap quite hard. I had to get all my wheels balanced again, as all the balancing front and rear was out and this seemed to sort my car out when driving in a straight line. But since my minor mishap, my car doesn't feel as stable in bends as normal and always feels on edge, like its going to spin again. I have had it up on the ramps in a normal (not Honda) garage and they said everything looks ok, so I was just wondering if anyone can offer me any advice on what they think the problem maybe.............

Thanks muchly

Gav

When you say you have had the wheels balanced, do you mean you have had the geometry checked or just the wheels balanced?

If just wheel balance then it's your geometry out..

Easy solution - Get your geometry done (at a proper four wheel alignment centre)

You may have knocked your geometry out slightly due to the gravel trap. These cars are very sensative to geometry and it can be easily nocked out.

It also may be due to a knock in your confidence and you're expecting it to 'bite' you again!!

When you say you weren't going too fast......?

I think you'll find the OP said that they weren't going that fast...

Sounds like a geometry issue to me... I'd get that sorted and hopefully things will return to normal.

No, I once gave mine 7˚30" of castor on the RHS reversing off a track, and they don't usually adjust that far!

Tended to drift into oncoming traffic when it should have oversteered away from it, which was a tad scary at times...

I was going to suggest that you are probably a little overcautious now and very conscious of every movement of the car. The geometry will hopefully make a difference

Don't know where you are based but around here it has been particularly bad over the past few weeks with damp/greasy roads.

You don't need to be going fast. Seen people spin at 22mph.
