Default I want a CD player - ideas?

OK....

The fascia is currently off as I've been fitting the lucid speaker upgrade. Maybe now is the time to consider a new head unit.

What I want is...

A unit with a CD slot in the front.
RDS radio
A CLOCK!
No rewiring or modifications.
Don't lose the use of the dash controls.

Is this possible? Any recommendations?

Pete

Take a look at IanL's profile he has the "Alpine CDR-7873R/CHA-S624/ KCE-865B-r1(dash control interface) "

This is one of the few/only to retain the dash controls, from what I recall at a previous meet it sounds excellent, helped obviously by his speaker choice.

I think it fits your bill, though Ian can tell you more

Does that mean that the front panel folds down and you stick the CD in behind or something?

Yep, that's how it works Pete - you press a button, the panel motors its merry little way thro 90 degrees, revealing its CD orifice . Mine has a neat 'tilt' function - you can angle the facia in 3 different positions for better views of the pretty flashing lights .

Seriously tho' Pete - I am very pleased with my head unit.

If you go Alpine, it also means that at a later date, desire and funds permitting, you can add a cd autochanger at relatively little expense (under the passenger seat, of course )
