Default ICE Options?

The stereo in the S2K is sh1t!

Anyway, I kept the most of the system I had in the M3 and am gonna fit it in the S2K, but it looks like one hell of a challenge, this is my kit list and ideas, lets here other suggestions:

Sony MDX-M690 - Mini Disc Head Unit
Sony 10 CD Autochanger
Alpine V-Power 90wx2 Amp
VIBE VP2 2 x 200W Amp
2 x VIBE BS Series3 8" Subs (currently in a custom ported box)

The plan is to fit the head unit (I would like to remove the whole of the little door cubby hole and blank the complete space off) and use the front S2K speaker driven off the speaker outputs from the stereo (may consider a speaker upgrade). Purchase a couple of new speakers and drive them from the Apline Amp on Line out 1. Drive the two 8" subs (built into the boot) via the VIBE amp and line out 2.

The challenge is where to put it all?

New speakers, behind the seats? I don't want to loose any seat recline though?
Two subs, one on either side of the boot, built into 45 degreee angle boxes?
Amps, on to the droped area where the torneau cover should sit (above the tool box)

Thoughts guys?

Using the Sony head unit you will lose the use of the remote dash controls.

Most people use Alpine head units as they do an adapter for these controls.

Alpine is the only way to go, it would drive me mad having to use the Stereo controls and keep pulling that flap down !!!

Ditch the OEM speakers.

Speakers in the rear panels work well - do a search for Lucid (one of the sponsors I believe).
Also, like they all said, go with Alpine, it's much less traumatic.
Consider losing the spare wheel for a location for the amp.

As it happens i may well have an Alpine MP3 player for sale with an adaptor to.
The Alpine lomb is modified to run the rear speakers behind the seat straight from the head unit.

Plus a pair of POLK 6.5 speaker
