Smile Ignorant road users...

It seems with the fog this morning, people went in to "stupid driver" mode when leaping in to their cars.

The traffic on the M11 this morning has to be the worst I've seen it for a while.

Today it was mostly full of ignorant ****s who wanted to drive at sub 50mph speeds in the middle lane when the inside lane was completely free.

So whilst undetaking every single one of them, I left my indicator signalling left so they new I was passing them on the inside, as I was alongside them, I let rip with the horn, swore and made various arm gestures and pointed at the inside lane before proceeding to the next one and repeated the process.

Not one seemed to realise they were holding up the traffic!

One driver even had his sunglasses on! What a nobber.

I'd love to just run some of these idiots off the road. No wonder we have so much congestion.

I think I was in a really foul mood from the M25. It was on go slow as everyone slowed down to watch soom bloke change a tyre! FFS.

What the fuzz need to do is be out on patrol and when they see people blatently holding up the traffic by lane hogging, pull them up, slap them with 6 points and

Bad weekend Mike?

No, I don't envy you that drive. I used to wish sometimes that I had a cattle prod on the end of a stick covered in KY, to wake their ideas up a bit!

Rain or fog, the typical Brit goes brain-dead. Try phoning for parts & see what sort of drongo you get!

Weekend was cool thanks Nick, well apart from being called a dick or being referred to as the "daughter-in-law".

What I saw today was as bad as being at the supermarket! At least at the supermarket you can bash an invalid out the way with your trolley or pull the plug out the back of their kart, but on the road your choices are limited!

WTF?

Best we don't even go there, methinks.

Funny you should say that about trolleys - I have log believed that one's trolley style is indicative of one's driving style. (I oversteer round the corners!)

Those women that block an entire isle with the trolley oustretched at arm's length worry me - what are they like in the Mummy's Prozac Vessel outside?

I too encountered the nobs this morning...

... Oh no! Its foggy, I need to reduce my speed to 30 on a familiar 60mph road with 300m+ visibility. Now I am in town and the fog has cleared more I think I will leave my fog lights on in traffic as I am not sure if anyone can see my car....

The closest I got to a road this morning was listening to the traffic news. Sounded quite bad in places. Keeping my S tucked up in bed for the while although may give it a blast this afternoon if the sun comes out!!

It was my g/f's dad who made the remarks, but he's still recovering from his accident so I let him off.

I fully believe, like you say Nick, people steer/guide their trolley round as they drive on the road. I know it's true for me.

As for foglights, well I saw some of the opposite today! In places, well on the twisties, it was really thick and some people didn't use lights.

it would appear from that photo that you've narrowed your car to fit the garage

Well I have my shopping delivered, so does that mean I'm ready for the Maybach + chauffeur

It will get worse when its icy i.e. if the numpties almost fall over on their drives because there was 3 inches of snow on there, but the roads are all clear, they will still drive at 20 mph everywhere because........."well its icy on my drive"

I've seen some shocking driving recently, but I'm not talking about OTT manoeuvres or road rage - I'm just talking about a simple, straightforward paucity of skills. Last weekend (7/8/9) on the northbound M1 between Leicester and the M1/A42 interchange, I saw so much rubbish driving (people with main beams on completely oblivious, strange lane changing, the scum-of-the-Earth middle lane hogs, and two cars in the outside lane doing 65mph... with absolutely nothing on the inside two lanes!!!) I said to myself: "There's going to be an accident on this motorway tonight and I do not want to get caught up in it." 15 minutes later, there's three lanes of stationary traffic for 15 minutes, and when I get to the blockage it's four cars which have gone up the back of each other. Well done guys.

This was eclipsed this weekend again on the M1 northbound, and again just near Nottingham, when we came to a halt for about 40 minutes on Friday night. What could have caused such a hold-up? It was quite simply a very minor two car shunt on the opposite carriageway, and everyone northbound was rubbernecking. They should all be shot.
