nice hot day - no aparent reason for it to split other than the ' position ' of the bend, did not even notice - shattering sound and a split 6" long so upset as my hood was not that bad for a 8 year old car... im now going to have the nice 'modification' of 8" of clear sticky tape very very annoyed... has this now de valued my car a huge amount ??

you have got to be kidding - that looks amazingly over complicated - and a hard job to do on your own

 

Have a go if you can get a mate to help you. I replaced mine with a mate in 7 hours. So much better now with the glass rear screen.
