Default Im keeping it!

Just to clear things up, ive been hankering after a return to 4wd land, in the guise of Subarau / Mitsubishi / Skyline!

But a few things have swung me back

The 1st is a big shiny thing and has VORTECH stamped on it! Thanks to Simon Prelude, I now have a new toy to bolt on which will make it infinately more fun I will fit the beasty later in the year... My plan is to keep the car looking very stealthy, maybe even ditch the KHS Hiper

I like modding and fiddling, and for me the N/A route is too pricey for little gain. Looking at the dyno plots for S/C's is appears to keep the character of the car, and a centrif blower does give its flow pressure linear to rpm.

That combined with the fact that 3 separate people wound the window down in traffic and said how nice the car was. It is great, and the birds like it

Oh, and im not even going to think about insurance just yet

I had understood from previous posts about supercharging that it's far from being a "bolt on" modification. Best of luck with it though.

I still reckon it will be no more than a month before your car appears on the FS&W board again, or there's another thread about a further change of mind!

All depends what you class as bolt on.

There is ECU re-wiring, drilling of the sump, other bits need to be replaced.
But essentially bolt on.

With the vortech no rolling roading is needed, but always a better bet and safer.

Good for you Mark, the similar rev-dependent boost characteristics also attract me to a supercharger - I don't feel so guilty about not following the N/A route

As Simon says, it depends how you approach it. Most of the US guys are into bigger injectors and aftermarket managment, big BOV's and all sorts. If you fit the kit as Vortech intended, and wind the boost down a tiny bit you can treat it as a bolt on.

Only other mods I will do are to fit an AFR gauge and knock link display for safety, and have the AFR checked on the dyno.

It should be fun, going to fit it all myself

And there will be passenger rides for letting me buy it off you

Craig, missed your subtle comment there, are you going S/C too?
