That's what I would have assumed but the guy specified that if I couldn't confirm it was cat 1 then the next best quote he could give me was

JDM don't have an immobiliser as stock.

It'll be aftermarket. Will have been done at the SVA centre more than likely.

I was told mine wasn't "Cat 1" so got a new fitted for

I had to send a copy of the installation certificate. If you don't have that, you're probably better off in the long run getting a new one installed.

I don't have that certificate. I didn't get any documentation other than a receipt and the MOT certificate when I got it.

I'll be getting a new one installed then.
