You can't have looked very hard.

I don't think I'm paying more for an import, but it does limit your options, and you have to be careful of the online quotes as often they'll have "no imports" hidden in the small print.

You can't press a button on the speedo to convert to mph as the JDMs don't have that. And you'll need to wire up a fog light. I didn't import mine so I don't know beyond that what's required. It's all got a lot more difficult now they have model reports.

By the time you've put UK spec fuel in a JDM, it'll be making almost identical power figures.

started looking online till my hopes were shattered i couldnt get cheap insurance for a uk spec S so looked into other options and an import was my answer, for u see i am only 24 and this year will be my first year of NCB on the S

Got really annoyed with some of the attitudes of the brokers such as adrian flux and some other who i forgot about ... ended up with A Plan. Rung them up and quoted me a fantastic quote for a DC5 which i was planning on getting.

And the guy seem really enthusiastic to help cos at the time i had no NCB and 3 points for speeding in a clio curtasy of a mobile speed camera (the was git hidden between trees)... and was able to work with the limits that i had. 2k was a brill figure comapred to 6??? don't u think :>

Yes, but I can't believe the same people wouldn't have given you as good or better deal on a UK car.

Really? My JDM has a button labeled something like kph/mph on the display panel. I've never tried pressing it though as it's in MPH already

In that case, does anyone know what is needed to get it through the SVA?

Is it just the case of pressing a button to change the speedo or is there more to it?

Cheers

No.

You need to get a model report. This outlines every thing that needs to be changed to make the S road worthy in the UK.

IIRC you need to
convert the Dash to MPH buy switching 2 wires.
Remove the K from KPH on the dash (done using a black pen)
Add rear fog light.
Change xeon bulbs - Normally over looked though.

Ah, I suppose that display being swapped out is a possiblilty. Like Dembo I've got no idea what was done to mine on import as I didn't own it then

more info please

mine appears to have had the bulb removed from the kph and placed behind the mph

how does adjusting the wires affect the milometer? does it continue to count in k?
