I'm sure there's loads of threads on this, but of course search doesn't work.

Has anybody gone the grey import route recently? My last car was an FTO I got from Japan via Newera, which was all pretty painless apart from the 3 month wait. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, but they do seem to be more expensive than most, and I've been looking at the likes of Bonsai cars for an S2K which also has the advantage of being able to choose what you bid for. The prices look attractive, until you add up all the numbers and then it barely seems worth it over what you could get a s/h car in the UK for. However, the s/h market is a bit frustrating, and I've already wasted time bidding on cars on ebay that get nowhere near their unrealistic reserve prices.

Any thoughts?
