If you need help www.euroimports.co.uk seem to like the VW marque.

Also, silly question perhaps...do you know what price you are comparing to in the UK???

If you're going to call dealers, I would recommend calling those near British bases, e.g. Munster, Munchen Gladbach, etc. At least then there's a probability that they'll speak English (assuming of course that you don't speak German )

There used to be a minor hiccup with De, in that one must pay the MwSt (16% IIRC) there, pay VAT back in blighty and then re-claim the MwSt.

The advantage of BeNeLux is that one doesn't pay the Tva (export goods scheme!), Ferries/Eurotrash will take you straight to your nearest dealer.

For me, Brussels is a shorter drive than Lancashire!

Having said that, De is a much more beautiful country and worth the drive.

Should be no problems importing, but just remember that whatever saving you make, a dealer in the UK will want to recoup at a future px.

However the DVLA are not allowed to show if a car is a parallel import, and the only place it will show is the service book and pdi stamp which you MUST ensure it has or your warranty will not be honoured in the UK.

Also remember to register the car with VW UK when you collect.
