Default Importing from Japan

Hi,

I'm wanting to buy an S2000, perhaps an average mile 1999/2000 model as this is what my budget can stretch to.

I've considered importing an S2000 from Japan personally. I'm in contact with a company across in Japan called Rush Corperation. I know a friend has imported an Impreza from them before and had no problems.

Basically, has anybody on here personally imported an S2000?

What would need to be done for the ESVA?

Would I need a model report?

Anything else?

I imported my first S from Japan. Excellent time to do it, the exchange rate really is in your favour:

- dont buy any thing less than grade 4
- Yes you will need a model Report
-EVSA requires you to fit a Fog light, rewire the electricts behind the dash to convert to MPH.

use www.HIFX.co.uk to exchange the money, they will get you an excellent exchange rate.

After 10 years cars don't need an ESVA .. just an MOT.

With regards to the model report, can I use one that somebody else has used, or do I have to buy a new one?

Fuel? Are the JDM S2000s mapped for 100RON fuel? What would I do in the UK?

It's not 100RON, it's 100PON I believe (either way, it's better).

Just use Optimax, Tesco's 99, or Ultimate.

I've had issues with BP, and always run mine on Shell (as there is one near work, and one near home).

I haven't got Tesco 99RON up here in Newcastle, it will have to be V-Power then!

Is there any companys up North that would undertake the ESVA work enabling it to pass?
