Default Induction

I was thinking of getting an induction kit for the S2 so i did a little research and and it seemed that the AEM V2 is the best to go for (any opinions?) I want an indutction kit mainly for the sound but not knowing what an S2 sounds like with an induction kit i decided to take the top off my standard air box and go for a little drive to see what it sounded like, i liked it but thought it might be a bit too loud and might sound a little "boy-racerish" Maybe its just a case of getting used to it. So i was wondering is that the same sort of sound i would get from actually fitting a new kit and also would there be any problem in leaving the top off my air box for a while?
Thanks Marc

AEM V2 is louder than Airbox off.

But it is a very nice sound

For performance, Mugen or J's Racing (

Thing is, it will only be loud with the throttle fully open or in VTEC, and you can easily drive the car quietley even with the airbox lid off.

Search is your friend (except it seems to be broken at the moment!)

There's quite a few theads on CAI options, e.g.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=524976

including discussions on adding a snorkel.

I was contemplating a K&N 57i GenII, but haven't got around to it. Little (nothing?) to be gained in performance, but a little more noise.

Airbox lid off won't do any damage, again plenty of threads on this if only you could search for them

what is a snorkel, it sounds like something you would fit to an off-road car
