I would recommend the aem v2.

There is plenty of information on intakes and the pros/cons - site search should see you right for the information you seek.

Cheers

I haven't got one but I know people would recommend the AEM V2 as the best intake for the money.

I've got a BMC CDA intake and I love it
Its not cheap though, but does give gains.

I don't have one either, but when I looked into it, it seemed to boil down to AEM V2 and K&N for readily available intakes (of course there are Mugen, etc.).
These were my conclusions from others' opinions:

+ AEM: true cold air intake, best noise
- AEM: arguably harder to install, risk of hydrolock due to location of filter

+ K&N: easier install, still a nice noise
- K&N: larger possibility of heatsoak due to location of filter

The AEM V2 and the K&N Typhoon (not to be mistaken with the K&N 57i) are basically the same design. So i guess the pros are cons for the that design will be the same.
Are they a direct fit? I read a thread and some guy cut a little of his bumper away?

For the positioning your referring to potentially stucking up a puddle? i guess through the weather would have to be absolutely horrendous before this would happen, near floods, heavy snow etc. I dont really plan of using the car is very bad weather any how. You could always fit some sort of guard underneath to reduce the risk.

This topic gets raised on a weekly basis for the last 10+ years Suggest you do a search or we all just have to reproduce the same comments.

Click on the UK forum and at the top right there is a search box. Type 'Induction' in there.

K&N FIPK is the dog's do-dads. Go K&N every time.
