Default Which induction kit?

I already have the K&N kit fitted to my car but recently purchased the PRM. Which is best and why?

As both do very little I would say the cheapest.

Just wondering why you would buy another kit not knowing if it's any good or not, when you already have an induction kit?

PRM does have the intake trumpet behind the rad, ok perhaps a little to the right of it but its still a very warm place.

The K&N has some heat shielding and is mental at vtec

I saw the set up of the PRM one and decided to buy it thinking I could modify it slightly to lengthen the hose and create a better and enclosed intake. I was looking at creating a direct cold air feed to avoid taking air from the engine bay, like my K&N does just now.

A little experimenting never hurts

The K&N does sound great on vtec though.....

I often wondered about the ridiculously long intake tract.

Purely theoretically, there should be a small gain from denser, colder air charge.

BUT, there will also be a significant pressure drop negating any gains IMO.

It would generally be better to accept slightly HIGHER intake temperature but with less pressure drop across the filter by using a shorter intake and a low drop filter like a K&N.
Pressure drop is far more significant in BHP gains than the temperature alone.
If you get both then wahoo, but I can't see how on this engine.

I've voted for the K&N as I ran one for years and it was spot on

Agreed they both do very little... but going into VTEC with a K&N Gen 2 would make any S2000 enthusiast smile. It's got this deep, crisp, I'm alive type of noise! Who cares if it does bugger all for performance.

K&N gets my vote... love it
