Default induction question

If I install an induction kit will you get the buzzing noise like you get when you remove the filter box?

Also anyone got one to sell?

Also if I stick with standard filter box and install a snorkle do you get any induction roar from that or is it the same as standard?

Thanks

Geoff

Yes it will buzz

Look in the FS section.

I think it's standard noise.

I had an AEM V1 induction kit. Absolutely amazing, soooo much better than just the airbox lid off!

HTH

You will get the buzzing with an induction kit but it's not half as bad as just the airbox lid off!
You best bet would be to meet up with somebody who's got one on and have a listen for yourself.

An AEM or K&N Typhoon/FIPK will be louder than the airbox lid off mod. With the FIPK you may suffer from what is called heatsoak, where the engine bogs down at low revs for a couple of seconds due to hot air being combusted in the engine, rather than cold air, which combusts better, giving more power. The AEM V2 and Tyhpoon is filter is located much further down in the engine bay, so does not generally cause this.

I have a snorkel, but can't hear it due to my exhaust . I would say that an AEM/Typhoon/FIPK intake is the best way to get more induction noise...and an extra 2 BHP at the top end if you're lucky.

+1 for attending a local meet to hear others...you know what you're getting then, and it's a good way to meet new people and learn more about your car.

Have you read the FAQ by the way? If not, here it is, and is well worth the read.

Sorry totally disagree with that. I have a K&N GenII induction kit and the father has just the airbox lid off on his and mine is a damn sight quieter. When I say quieter i mean a lot less of the droning noise.
