Default Installing tracker

I am looking at having a tracker installed on my S - but have never really had a car worth nicking before.
Anybody got any reccomendations / horror stories.

I decided not to take the Honda option when we bought the car as it seemed excessive - even for a dealership.

Cheers

I contacted the maunufacturers via their website, they put me in touch with a local approved fitter who came out to the house and fitted it - all very easy and straightforward and no problems so far.

Helen,

Which tracker are you having installed? I can't say about installation on the S2000, but I can comment on the servie from Tracker themselves.

I've found them to be very good. I've had a few times when the tracker has been activated - i.e. when the garage were moving my car up and down on a ramp! and also when it was on a tow truck - unlocked.

Both times they contacted me within a matter of seconds after the car started moving.

The only thing I'd say is that they give you the option to have the system checked -

Speaking to a colleague who had one fitted to his Boxster recently, he claims that insurance companies will only deal with the Monitor option (I have the entry-level Recovery option, I think) from next year.
The reason is apprently that the Recovery option is no good if the car is driven quickly into a shielded container.

Does anyone know if this is true ?

I had a Tracker (monitor) installed by a local installer and got a 15% "regular customer" discount as I had used them a couple of times before.

I paid just over

Yes, and can report similar stories as described above.

Excellent install, done in my work car park.
