Default Insult

Taking DVD back to Blockbuster on monday woman pulls up in bus known as Espace, see drools over car ( just washed and polished ) and start asking questions. She then give the total insult , " Must be a Hyhundai, i've got the Coupe at home but this is nicer".

Might have to put the Honda badges back on the front wings !

To quote a conversation overhead at the Rutland Water meet last year:

Son: "Dad, what are all those cars?"
Dad: "They're MX5s"

Unfortunately he got away before we could do an adjustment to his education

If you have an unusual and uncommon car, you can't expect everyone to recognise it.

I've found that alot of non-petrolhead civvies - male and female - don't recognise the car...and the syling is not exactly typical Honda is it?? - but the ALL agree that it is one mighty-sexy motor.
I like the rarity - it's a 'know' rather than a 'show' car...which also happens to look FANTASTIC!

Hear hear, Tokyo Jim - everyone needs to start on the convertible ladder somewhere, and I for one wouldn't hear a word said against the MX5.

My MX5 was the first RWD car that I'd driven. If I'd have progressed straight to an S2000 without having got used to RWD on something a bit more tame first, I doubt I'd have gone more than a few weeks without wrapping it around a tree or losing the back end in suitably spectacular fashion!

In all seriousness, I think the MX5 is a good feeder for the S2000 - it gives you an affordable taste of what its like to drive a sporty convertible, and whets the appetite for something with a bit more poke and style.
