Default Insurance Question

So, it's renewal time again. Aviva has decided they can charge whatever they want, which is an outrageous amount. Sky, after telling me they can broker a deal has decided that they also don't want my money. But, this is fairly straight forward. I have no points, an accident from last April where some jerk ran into the side of my car that is still in dispute, and an accident in Nov 2009 where someone ran into the rear of my stationary car. I happen to spend more time outside the UK than in, which means I still use my New York license as NY requires this. I am generally in the UK on weekends only, so much less than six months of the year.

So the question is, does anyone know an insurance firm that will insure non-UK license holders?

Thanks for the tip. They're struggling with my post code in the middle of Birmingham. I may need to sell the car because I can't get insurance.... And I have no points!

Try Lifesure Ltd, a broker in St Neots

Dont have their details to hand, but they come up easily on google, been with them on and off for about 10 years no problems. Been through all sorts of companies with them from well known to Lloyds Syndicates. Every year i trwl about and they usually match the price or even better it. Last year they were cheapest in any case for me.

Competition Car Insurance looks like a keeper, and comes with five track days cover as well!

Livingstones Warman Insurance Brokers are superb and have a particular Underwriter called 'Maidstone' (IIRC) who is very very reasonable and will often insure cases that are not of the norm - just be open and explain your situation and see if they can help you, chances are they may do. Advise them that you are a Club & Forum member and that they were recommended by another member (feel free to mention my name, Rhauri Moncrieff, if it would help).

I'm with them and they're superb.

Hope that helps
