Default Insurance renewal. Done

Reminder came in, approx 35% increase, after last years bump which has just been sorted in my favour I wondered if the renewal dept were behind the claims guys/gals, so I called, nope renewal figure is correct, so I gave them a new quote id number, some repetitive questioning and insurance now renewed at less than last year on new customer quote. Telesales asked if I wanted to go on auto renew, I asked “ after today’s conversation what do you think” , then asked me “do you want to cancel the renewal letter?” I bit my tongue there.
Insurance Co Saga for this old fart, car valued at £24k on their system.

Paid for mine as an annual, 5k miles a year and £255 for myself and the wife on it fully comp. Mines worth less but I thought it was decent for the cars category. Some young sprogs at work are paying 3k a year for a 1.2 Fiesta, 2k for a 1.6 Focus. Crazyness but they're in their early 20s.
I always move insurers, they take the p*ss no matter who you are with at renewal time. Plus I got another £15 voucher from money supermarket to spend on Just Fat (eat) or John Lewis

After paying I was told if I’d made the mileage 5999 instead of 6000 I could have saved a little more! Wife is insured on my car but can’t remember last time she drove it, maybe not even this decade!

I need to look for other insurance for all our vehicles. It has been outrageous over the last 3 years. I mean it has been crazy high for longer than that but that seems around the time it got crazy. And getting ready to add another kid on the policy so it will go sky high now and not much I can do about that but maybe another company will be a bit cheaper

£ 180 for me last year with Churchill. And that's with business usage.

Martin Lewis mentioned it should drop this year.. I think he said 17%

My boosted one was 283 last year. Not bad for 400bhp, 1200kg and no traction control. Needs a specialist. Think the NA one is cheaper

Just renewed mine. 3000 miles with business use

£217 with £45 cash back with Aviva Zero.

Last year my best price was £290 for 5000 miles but I never got near that so dropped it this year.

Looking through some old quotes and I see that NCB has considerably on some policies, I remember when after a year one would get 40% discount increasing 10% a year up to 60 or even 65%, now I see some starting at 18% and after many years maxing out at 40%. Seems rather sneaky.
