Default ipod connection.

Ok now we're both using an ipod I thought about adding a connection to save carrying cds in the car, but what do I buy? in a local shop I saw 2 rca to 3.5mm jack plug leads or do I get one that is rca to a connection that goes in the large ipod connector? Sorry if this seems stupid bit not something I've needed before and the shop people were less than helpful.

Alternatively do what i do, buy a good DVD headunit JVC etc (not a DVD player with screen etc).

Burn all you albums onto one disc, so 8GB worth.

With just an simple ipod connector HU, someone has to change the tracks .

I carry round two discs which contains all my music

Mmmm, my present aftermarket unit supports mp3 discs so I could make discs to use, never thought of that.

You want one of these if you don't want to change your head unit

I have the older model of this my car and its excellent. It worked perfectly with my ipods up to my current iphone. Still works with the iphone but because its the older model it won't charge the iphone but the new ones are compatible.

I've got a Honda dealer fitted link with the original HU. Works a treat, uses the dash controls AND puts the Honda logo onto the iPod screen! I have to put the music into playlists called Honda1, Honda2 etc. HU thinks it is attached to a CD changer.

I have one of the earlier units and works very well with the ipod mini I leave in the car.

They also do a USB stick player, which is a cheaper option than having a dedicated ipod for the car.
