Thumbs up iPod solution?

Hello,

I'm collecting my shiny new S2000 on Saturday (I will do an intro once I have the car and some pictures) and was going to add the iPod connection to the standard head unit until the dealer said it was a

I would hold out and get the Alpine-X100. Its the updated version of the ida-x001. You can buy them now from asia on ebay. They May even be released over here now.

It will sound a lot better then a standard HU too.

Hope this helps.

my bird has got an ipod with griffin itrip attachment that works really well. unlike some transmitters, this gives a clear signal to the s2000 radio. purists would prob say u loose abit of quality but i didn't really notice it;

Great, thanks - just wanted to be sure I was on the right track and there were no show stoppers to fitting the new HU. I suspected the standard HU might not be all that special.

The problem is that it suffers from interference when the band you're on conflicts with a local station. Also the quality may seem good whilst driving along but when you compare it to one of the Alpine units - it really is quite terrible and I'm not a purist. I own an iRoad and have owned an X001 and I would go for the X0001 every time. forget the dealer option - that is insanely expensive for a cable you can get on ebay for considerably less!

This and Modifry's DCI (to keep your dash controls) will be miles better than the stock HU and probably cheaper than the
