Interesting... Defintely need a donor car though I think with the price of new parts as I saw with my smash!

On my brakes:

After a little more research, and then finding the Black Diamond discs at an even cheaper price, which was then matched by Demon Tweaks, I've gone and ordered them

-Black Diamond 1086 Grooved Front Discs (6 Grooves)
-Ferrodo DS2500 Front Pads
-Goodrich Stainless Steel Braided lines all round
Total including delivery(to Dublin) £322.74 or about €390

Given the DBA discs alone would have been about €290 - if they didnt get stopped in customs, I think that's a pretty decent price overall.

Driveshafts - E120,
Wheel Bearings, spindle nuts, castle nuts - E180,
Tools E80,
New rear brake pads: €26 (Apec, temporary)
2days Personal Labour and a quiet/fixed car - priceless!

####n wheel bearing!
Damn noise was coming from the passenger side even though it was the drivers side bearing that was damaged!
Car is soooo much quieter now though - its wind noise thats most prominant again on the motorway (with the top up )

Also finally wired up the drivers headrest speaker a couple of weeks ago (I'll get round to the passenger one...) - great improvement for having the top down. A decent set of main speakers and head unit are in the pipeline - though after the above spending spree(& the braking stuff in my last post) that'll be waiting a while.

First off, a big hello to everyone over the water

I'm looking for a few tips, and need to pick your collective brains. My parents live in Co. Waterford and I will be popping over to visit for a few days next month. Just for a change (and because I get dragged off to her folks every other week ) my girlfriend is coming with me, so after all the family duties are done & dusted we intend having a day/night to ourselves-the question is where would you guys recommend?

I'm looking for some decent driving on route, would rather stay SE or failing that not too far SW, and would like to end up somewhere I can have a good drink (which shouldn't be too difficult) and a decent bite to eat.

I've done the Copper Coast to death over the years, so I'll rule that out, but I was thinking maybe the Comeraghs for a drive (if anyone knows any good routes), and heading down to Cork City-the folks used to live in Co. Cork, yet I've never actually stayed and gone out 'properly' in the City.

Either way I'm fairly flexible, and open to suggestions, all will be very gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

Nice and unusual place to visit in the Comeraghs is Mahon Falls outside Dungarvan. Known famously for it's 'Magic Road'. Stop the car by the tree covered in ribbons and souvenirs, put the car in neutral, off the brake and the car rolls up the hill. I've done it, it works.

As for Cork City plenty of good pubs and restaurants and good places in the city centre to stay.

Discs and Pads fitted, and, I think, bedded in.

Lines to go on when I get more time and someone to help me so I can bleed the system once I fit the lines.

Got asked to leave a part of Ballymount Ind Estate on Sunday while I was doing it though! Politely though, as I was polite to them
