Anybody on here know these???

Spoon Calipers????
These are spoon twin blocks, an older design to the ones on my car. This caliper was never used on s2000s (ek civic and dc2) so won't have the correct brackets.
They're also front mounted calipers, unlike ours which is rear mounted, so the pistons won't be the right orientation either.
All of this can be sorted with some work, but long story short not a straightforward swap.

Cheers Andy....

Jonner, noticed MB is removing his spoon calipers so they might be up for sale soon. Worth keeping an eye out!

Hey folks,

Been lurking on here for a while, somewhat regular over on Octane/Backroads.

Just got my 99 AP1 back from a health check in Tuning Factory, very happy with the service and work done, car feels toight!

Really just one thing left to address.

As is often the case with these I have some water getting into the boot floor. Seems early stages as there is minimal surface rust but getting to be a pain drying it out all the time, soft top only and not garaged.

I've looked at the various threads on here with suggested fixes and have cleared the drain channels that exit into the wheel arch and pretty much reached the limits of my technical/mechanical expertise. Any more digging or dismantling is likely to do more damage than good.

The water comes in back behind both wheel arches, flows around the arch and into the spare wheel pan.

Anyway to the point of the thread, does anyone know of a garage/shop that would have the expertise to tackle this or at least some experience with s2000 roofs.
By the way it has a later glass insert AP2 roof fitted, that otherwise is in good condition.

Appreciate any suggestions, I'm Galway based so ideally someone in the west or midlands, probably a long shot?

Hi Foyler,
I've had to clean several sets of drains to stop the boot filling with water and just clearing them out normally works. If you can change a puncture and know how to just a car jack I wouldn't pay anyone to sort this for you as its a 10 minute job. Here's some good links that will help you

Thanks a lot for the links LFB, I had seen the first 2 UK ones but not the 3rd Aus/US link.

The plastic 'bucket' beneath the bristles and drain pipes are definitely clear, had the car up/wheels off and ran thick strimmer cable through both, one was slightly blocked but not the cause.
The boot vent is also fine.

My leak is almost exactly as that featured in pages 4 & 5 of the 3rd link (Post No. 86 has an image which shows exactly where my leak is coming from). I had another look today and can see the water coming from where the back of the roof joins the body.
The solution appears to be to take all off the panels behind the seats (Very hard to get at properly) and then detach the roof - that is the part that is likely to see me doing damage/breaking stuff/making it worse!
Those plastic panels seem hard enough to get off, let alone messing with the roof!

All other suggestions welcome.

Hi Foyler,
If you are planning to remove panels etc, and don't have it already I can give you a copy of the full factory service manual - which shows complete disassembly of EVERY component/panel in the car - very useful to know the sequence and where the clips etc are. A.K.A. A Helms Manual.
Mail me and I'll mail you a link to download it: faltermeyer AT gmail DOT com

Thanks for the offer Quoi, I started taking off the smaller panels behind the seats to see if I could pin-point the leaks but will not go any further for the reasons listed previously, ie even if I manage to take out the seat/panels etc I still have to start dismantling the roof which is guaranteed to end in tears....

Small problem,

After some hard braking my handbrake light comes on for a split second the goes back out.

I'm thinking a sticky rear caliper perhaps??????

Any thoughts
