If you plan to keep the car for a while then I think that the import route is the way to go.

I think you will find that the import won't come with locking wheel nuts .... but you can buy these from Honda for ~

If you're intent on buying new then that price is about as good as it gets. Bob Gerrard might be slightly cheaper, but there isn't much in it from memory - probably a couple of hundred quid at most, if any difference at all. The warranty thing is a bit of a non-issue really, unless you're going to be doing SERIOUS mileage in the three year warranty period.

You may have to be flexible about colour though - they generally have a few in stock for immediate or short-wait delivery (typically popular colours like Silverstone) but if you want something not already in the pipeline, there's a 4-5 month lead time while they order it.

If you don't want to spend that extra

This difference in used price between UK and import will decrease over time. This is why it will be a better buy if you hold onto the car fior a number of years.

Not necessarily true. If it's a UK spec car it's indistinguishable. It made no difference when I sold my import after 6 months ownership.

I'd have thought it'd have to be an import if you're gonna sell short.

Do it with a UK car and you're almost guaranteed to blow

Thanks to all who replied,
This does raise another question, these cars are being advertised as 55 plates, if I wait a month or so will they become 06 plates (at the same price) ???
