StevenM, and others, you'll find that the tube will self locate. Simply park it at the base of the hood (up). The tube will rest against the lip of the rear bodywork and roll down into the hood under gravity as the hood folds away.
The reverse operation is less cool - the tube flies out and usually onto the road behind, which can be interesting
