It amazes me in this day and age that we get a dusting of snow and the country comes to a grinding halt.

Why is it that every time it snows the councils are caught short and cannot put a bit of grit on the road? I know that BBC weather isn't the best at prediction but even a muppet could see from last nights weather that there would be some of the white stuff about this morning in the south east

Snowing quite a lot in Tooting SW London but as I got towards Balham Clapham it's clear.

Cycled to work this morning through it

lots of snow down my way - glad ive got my landrover ! there was an accident in my parents village and police etc could not get in so they had to get air suport to take them to hospital !

Love the picture!

My S goes out in all weathers, and curiously, so far, I've not had a problem in the snow.

When I went out this morning, the snow was already thawing, and the local lanes (in Hertfordshire) were fine.

However, on my return at midday, the damp surface was already beginning to freeze over, so watch out, as it's going to be dodgy tonight!

Its due to hit -3 in dublin tonight, slideey slideey on the way to work tomorrow!
