Default J's Racing 70RR Single Exhaust....

Well after the fitting of my AEM EMS I am now desperate to wring every last bit of power from the car! Currently have a 60RS single that is nice and civilised on a daily basis.
Basically wondering if I am totally mad to consider a 70RR even though the gains on it should be fantastic?!

What would you do?

Well first of all there's no better parts for the S n/a wise than J's.

I'd only go for a 70 if i wanted...

a) a louder exhaust/didn't value my hearing
b) more gains at the top end at the expense of mid, lower down gains.

Yeah mate I did that's what I'm trying to say. I have the 60RS fitted, trying to decide if the gains are worth getting a 70RR to maximise the potential of the AEM EMS.

2bhp more is not gonna make you any faster but louder exhaust will make you deaf sooner...lol

Maybe spend some money to modified yourself instead? A good driver worth probably 100bhp more

I would spend the money on taking Phil out for a curry and convincing him to get Mase to come over for a tuning session.

The car has a mase map on it Haroon, tweaked for my car by Romain. I was expecting the 70RR to release a lot more than 2hp Dixon, dynos from the US report that a 60RS makes possibly 3-5hp but the 70RR more like 15-20!

I also like loud exhausts and find the 60RS a tad quiet, however I have been told a 70RR is insanely loud so I wondered if anyone in UK had one or had heard one in the flesh and could comment on the volume level!

Mate seriously take the figures from the US side with a pinch of salt, they give you an indication and area of gains.

I like the yanks but bhp figures are generally over inflated in my opinion.

I can see that exhaust adding more than 2bhp at the crank but not lots more as i say at the expenses of lower down power.

20hp Some jokers in the states.

Id say 5bhp max.

Not heard one on an S2000 but my friend has one on his DC5 and its loud. Not good loud, but dog turd loud.

I've got a T1R 70R which is a 70mm header back single like the J's. They do make power over a 60mm - for sure - but it is loud

I thought my 60mm with decat sounded better overall, but if you're looking for more power 70mm is proven over 60mm.

The 70mm also leaned things out noticeably on the dyno so having the ability to add fuel and alter timing with the AEM will definitely yield gains - on a dyno.

Your cash, your choice.
