Wan ping blocking is on
I read that as, they were asking if I had switched off ICMP replied
s at the router (I.e. I didn't get ping replies) some routers do that

I didn't think you meant the otherway round

That would be far too clever a question for me.

I'm trying to get the site admin to get the US techies to log on to the offending router and ping the forum server. That'll prove there's a problem.
(Turned out it was him trying to be clever rather than the techies)
He's not going to put a lot of effort into it though for one user.

That AI software I installed is obviously far more clever than I thought. It recognises troublemakers.

Mind you, it missed Feathers.

i tried to route through a proxy, got to the page but then got this HTTP 405 - Resource not allowed

Nah, you need to get your country bumpkin ISP sorted out. Maybe the bloke in the exchange needs to wind it up again.
